Raid peasant villages, burn crops, siege castles, defend the royal family, or fight to the last man in a gladiatorial arena. Prepare to fight in a variety of inspired medieval environments and scenarios. Players will use different attacks, blocks and counters insuring that combat is tactical, responsive and of course chaotic. Melee combat in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is more than just hack and slash. An extensive armoury of more than sixty period-authentic weapons, including swords, shields, daggers, maces, axes, javelins, longbows and crossbows, delivers deadly choices for decimating foes. Players can choose between one of four classes – Knight, Vanguard, Man-at-Arms and Archer – each balanced to offer a unique set of strengths and vulnerabilities in any given situation. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare combines a sharp melee edge and familiar competitive gameplay along with the genuine look and feel of open-field combat in the Middle Ages. ![]() Its simple nature and visuals make it a game accessible for a lot of people, but perhaps a bit too shallow to invest time in it in the long run.Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a fast-paced online multiplayer action game which will have players turning in their guns and grenades for battle axes and swords. Overal Chivalry is a game that offers intense first person melee fighting and gripping objective based games. You have to predict the movements of the enemies, which is easier said than done and can be frustrating if you fail a lot of shoots. Because of this, i found that the ranger class is probably the one with the steppest learning curve. This means that there is an ever so slight delay between firing a shot and when it will it, which is noticable even when you fire at short distances. In order to make it balanced, the arrows are designed like actual projectiles instead of hitscan weapons. When too many people join in it becomes highly chaotic, and the game loses its enjoyability in this moment. There is a certain finesse to the fights, at least when you are caught in a 1v1 situation. But because friendly fire is always on, as well as the ability to block, its never a good thing to just bash the attack button. The offer a nice range for attacks as well, as opposed to games like Skyrim which for you to be in the face of the oponent to actually hit them. The weapons feel that they have real weight to them and the hits are felt. What the game does very well is first person melee brawling. The other 3 classes are more melee focused, even if they often have a secundary weapon that can be thrown. There are 4 classes to choose from, of which the ranger standsout for its focus on ranged weapons. There are a couple of game modes from team deathmath to objective, but honestly the game feels design for objective while the other modes are just a diversion. Even though Chivalry is past its golden age, this kind of knowledge is probably going to apply to future melee games like Mordhau.Credits to King, Frank, Ris. Its a purely multiplayer driven game in which two opposing sides battle it out. If you know the game Pirates Vikings and Knights, this is a very similar game in tone and gameplay but it ditches the pirates and vikings. ![]()
